Shipping Updates & Announcements
TARIFF'S APRIL-MAY 2025
Our Dearest Guests,
We wanted to share an important update regarding current tariffs and how they're affecting our work. As many of you know, a significant portion of our products are crafted in China. Unfortunately, tariffs on these goods have surged to 145%... A cost that’s simply not sustainable for us or for you, our valued customers.
Here’s what we’re doing in response:
Jewelry:
We’re thrilled to share that we’ve partnered with a talented jeweler in India. This isn’t new territory for us as we’ve previously worked with Indian artisans to produce our "Mourning Hand" Belts and "Lucerna" Tea Strainers, and we’ve always been impressed by the craftsmanship. Going forward, we’ll be working with both our Chinese and Indian manufacturers.
So don't worry. We are not stepping away from our China factory. In fact, we’ve placed one final order (for now) of our best-selling pieces. We’re doing everything we can to absorb the tariff costs on this batch, so if there’s something you’ve had your eye on, now is definitely the time!
Looking Ahead:
Our India partners are already working on new designs, and the early 3D renders are stunning. We’re incredibly excited about what’s to come. Even with these changes, we’re committed to maintaining the same pricing for sterling silver and gold-plated jewelry, velvet boxes, and our signature chains.
Fashion Items:
Our fashion items are currently housed in our China factory—and for now, we have good news.
If you're ordering a fashion item, you won’t be facing steep tariffs just yet. Thanks to a temporary loophole, orders under $800 shipped from China are currently exempt from tariffs. However, this exemption ends May 2, 2025. If you’ve been thinking about purchasing a dress or any fashion item, now is the time.
You can read more about this policy change here:
White House Fact Sheet
Starting May 2, 2025 at 12:01 a.m. EDT, all shipments from China and Hong Kong—regardless of value—will no longer be eligible for the duty-free de minimis exemption.
Postal items under $800 will be charged either 30% of their value or a flat $25 per item, whichever is greater.
After June 1, 2025, that flat fee increases to $50 per item.
Tariff rates are still shifting and may increase again soon. So if you're planning to buy something, we recommend doing so before the changes take effect.
We will be working closely with our Fashion Factory for future projects and will continue to keep an eye on the news.
Thank you for your continued support and trust!
It means the world to us.
With love,
Petals & Poison
Return Policy Overview
If an exception is made and a return is approved, please note that:
- Accepted returns will be processed as non-expiring store credit (Petals & Poison eGift Card), minus the cost of the pre-paid return label and shipping costs.
- The store credit is transferable and may be used for any future purchase on our site.
- Petals & Poison store credit and coupons are not accepted at our cafe, Burnt Umber.
Q: I placed an order, but it hasn't shipped yet. Why is that?
A: Most of the time the reason for orders not shipping is because you have ordered a pre-order item alongside a ready to ship item. If you ordered both pre-order and in-stock items together, your entire order will ship once the pre-order item is available. If you'd like your in-stock items sooner, we recommend placing separate orders. Please note that by purchasing a pre-order item, you accept that it may ship either sooner or later than the estimated time.
Q: Can I cancel my order?
A: We aim to get all packages out within 24 hours of purchase. All orders (including pre-orders start processing immediately). Because of this, we can only provide cancellations in the form of shop credit ONLY. If a pre-order is delayed, we DO NOT offer refunds. Pre-order timeframes are an estimate only, and by checking out, you are acknowledging that pre-order times may change.
You will receive 100% store credit (excluding shipping fees)for approved cancellations as long as your items have not shipped. If your order has shipped, we cannot cancel it, but we can assist you with a return. You can apply for a shop credit refund & a return label to return your product. Please note: shipping fees are non-refundable.
Q: Why haven’t I received updates about my pre-order?
A: We totally understand how eager you are to receive updates, and thank you so much for your patience! Because we’re a very small team with a large customer base, it’s a bit tricky to provide individual updates for every pre-order.
The best way to stay in the loop is by signing up for our mailing list, where we share all important info about shipping timelines, delays, and general pre-order updates. We also regularly post announcements on Instagram (@petalsandpoison), so be sure to follow us there!
If you think you may have missed an update or just want to check in, please don’t hesitate to reach out via email. We’re always happy to assist you directly.'
Refunds are extremely rare and we are proud to have an extremely low rate of returns, less than 5 since 2014! We want to ensure you are fully satisfied with your purchase, so if you have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to reach out--we're here to help!
Please contact us immediately if you need your item cancelled.
Important Considerations:
- Color Discrepancies: Please be aware that the color representation on your screen may vary from the actual product due to differences in display settings. We make every effort to ensure accuracy, but the colors shown are for reference only and may not perfectly match the actual item.
- Shipping & Responsibility: Petals & Poison is not responsible for damages, losses, or delays incurred once your order has been shipped. If your item arrives damaged, please contact us at **petalsandpoison@gmail.com** with an image of the damage. Return shipping costs, both to and from our facility, are the buyer's responsibility.
April 2025 Tariff & Import Fees Notice:
Due to the recent changes in tariff regulations, we want to be transparent with our community. Most of our pieces, as you know, are made in China, where we work closely with trusted partners. While we are doing everything we can to not raise prices at this time, we ask for your understanding that this could change at any moment depending on how the situation evolves. Please know that we are committed to keeping our prices as low and fair as possible for you.
Fashion Warehouse Notice
For those shopping with our Fashion Warehouse, the same message applies. We are monitoring the impact of these tariffs closely and will continue to provide beautifully curated collections at the best possible prices. Thank you for supporting Petals & Poison—your loyalty means everything to us during these unpredictable times.
Import Fees & Tariffs
Orders designated for shipment to all countries may be subject to local taxes, customs duties, and fees levied by the destination country (“Import Fees,” which include tariffs). The recipient of the shipment is considered the importer of record in the destination country and is responsible for all Import Fees. If you refuse a shipment from Petals & Poison, you will be held responsible for the original purchase and shipping charges, any Import Fees incurred on the package, and the cost of returning the package to Petals & Poison. We strongly advise against refusing a package, as there is no guarantee it will be successfully returned to us, and refused items are not eligible for refunds or reimbursement. Please be aware of these potential fees before placing an order.
International orders are shipped via DHL Express; however, depending on inventory location, we may occasionally use USPS or UPS. At this time, we do not offer expedited international shipping beyond DHL Express. Delivery via DHL Express typically arrives within 1–2 business days in Europe and 3–4 business days in Asia. Petals & Poison is not responsible for shipping or delivery delays caused by acts of nature or other uncontrollable events. If your order ships via USPS or UPS, please allow additional time for delivery.
International Shipping available:
All International Customers are responsible for all and any duties and taxes that are required. No refunds/returns/exchanges. All sales final!
We are unable to reduce the declared value of international orders to avoid customs fees. Please note that we do not cover or assume responsibility for any customs fees applied to international orders.
If customs denies your package, please contact us for assistance—we’re happy to help! However, please be aware of your country’s rules and restrictions, as we are not responsible if customs seizes your items. Additionally, we are not liable for items returned to us due to customs restrictions or failure to pick up the package.
We aim to get all packages out within 24-48 hours of purchase. All orders (including pre-orders start processing immediately). Because of this, we can only provide cancellations in the form of shop credit ONLY.
Cancellations will receive a 100% refund in the form of shop credit, so long as your ordered items have not yet shipped. Please note that if your order has already been shipped, we unfortunately cannot cancel your order. You can apply for a shop credit refund & a return label to return your product.
In this circumstance, shipping will not be refunded. Please contact us immediately if you need your item cancelled.
We are not responsible for rejection of parcels, and will not be able to refund shipping & handling costs. Please be sure to have your paperwork in order and customs fees paid!
Petals & Poison Fashion* is WRAP and BSCI production certified, offering an inclusive size range.
*Our fashion items are shipped from our overseas facility, so we cannot offer free domestic shipping on these products. Shipping for fashion items will be charged separately. However, if your order includes other items totaling $100 or more, shipping for those items will be free. If your order does not reach the $100 minimum and includes fashion products, you may incur separate shipping charges. Please keep this in mind when placing your order!
Prayer Requests:
I also wanted to extend out the offer of prayer requests.
During this anxious and uncertain time, I want to be able to be there to pray for you and with you for the things that you need. This service doesn’t cost anything. It is just something I have always offered and have made a point to consistently and obediently reach out to those who need prayer. You don’t have to be specific, and all prayer requests will be confidential.
Thank you so much & God Bless,
Jená of Petals & Poison
